SEAS is a leading manufacturer of high-quality
loudspeaker drive units and other related audio products. For more than 60
years we have developed and manufactured speakers for a worldwide market, and
are firmly established in the market with a very strong brand identity and a
solid customer portfolio.
In addition to our headquarters near E6 in Rygge municipality , we also
maintain a sales office in Chicago, USA. SEAS currently has 50 dedicated
employees, 6 of whom are employed in the R&D lab. The R&D department
provides support to all internal departments; including production, purchasing
and marketing.
The R&D department is now seeking a new employee, who will help us
strengthen our critical functions within the SEAS organization. This new
employee will initiate, manage, and implement exciting new projectsin
collaboration with other lab employees; projects that will help advance SEAS’
position in the overall loudspeaker market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product
development: encompassing all aspects from initial computer simulation through
final production
Handover and follow-up of products from the lab to the production department
Building of relationships with customers and suppliers, in cooperation with
with the SEAS marketing and purchasing departments.
REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced degree
in acoustics or in other relevant areas
A strong interest and basic knowledge in the areas of speakers, acoustics,
sound quality and measurement techniques.
A strong interest and some knowledge in the areas of mechanics, dynamics,
magnets, adhesives, plastics, composites, metals, technical drawing and 3D
modeling.
PERSONAL SKILLS:
We are
seeking an enterprising person with enthusiasm for finding new and creative
projects. We are interested in someone who is curious, creative and who
projects confidence. You should be able to work independently and purposefully,
while at the same time collaborating internally and with external contacts. It
is also important that you are able to multi-task, with the ability to engage
an diverse projects simultaneously.

We are very

The 22TFF
is a High Definition soft dome tweeter with a wide surround.
One-piece Sonomex dome and surround allows for very tight production tolerances and high consistency with a smooth and extended frequency response. The voice coil windings are immersed in magnetic fluid to increase the power handling capacity, and reduce compression at high power levels. The chassis is moulded from a stiff and stable glass fiber reinforced polymer material, and its front design offers optimum radiation conditions.

Design Passive Radiator
Dear SEAS friend and customer –
The L26ROY
subwoofer was designed using highly sophisticated FE modeling to secure perfect symmetry and virtually eliminate all instability. In these critical areas, the L26ROY outperforms all other subwoofers that we tested so far.
After extensive listening evaluations, however, we realized that even a perfect subwoofer cannot perform at its best without addressing the problems created by mounting a high output subwoofer driver in a small, vented enclosure. What was needed, was a perfectly matched passive radiator. An L26ROY mated to such a passive radiator would make it possible to use a compact cabinet volume of only 40 liters, while avoiding all the troubles associated with using a vented port. No more chuffing noise or unwanted resonances!
Introducing the new SL26R
Passive Radiator from SEAS:
The SL26R is a perfect acoustic and cosmetic match to our L26ROY subwoofer. It uses the same basket and cone assembly, and is supplied with the exact moving mass necessary to perfectly load the L26ROY in a 40 liter enclosure.
The SL26R is:
• A perfect acoustic and cosmetic match to the L26ROY subwoofer
• Designed to achieve a 26Hz Helmholz resonance in a 40 liter enclosure using a single passive radiator
• Tunable by adding or removing mass
• Usable in pairs to achieve even higher acoustic output.
• The best solution for eliminating port chuffing, resonances and mid frequency leakage
• In applications where extreme SPL is needed, two SL26R passive radiatiors can be used with a single L26ROY. In this case, the addition of 200 grams extra mass to each passive radiator will achieve a tuning at 26Hz in a 40 liter cabinet.

New distributor in Finland

SEAS of Norway announces Håvard Sollien as new R&D Manager
Dear SEAS Customers and Associates
As of January 1st, I have assumed the position of Manager at the SEAS R&D laboratory, succeeding Mr Olav Arntzen who has advanced to the position as Managing Director of SEAS. I’ve been a part of the SEAS R&D team since August 2007, and have for the last year also been managing the R&D projects.
I have a Master in Acoustics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. My Master Thesis focused on a novel approach of measuring the small-signal parameters of loudspeakers. Other research interests is room-acoustics and perception of sound.
I look forward to all the new and exiting development projects and drivers and to continue our research in solving the mystery of the breathtaking sound experience.

We are back from our Christmas Holidays, which here in the Moss
region has been very cold this year.
We are most pleased to present to you all our new Prestige Kit, Idunn ,
which utilises the new curv cone woofer U18RNX/P
and DXT tweeter 27TBCD/GB-DXT.
Idunn is based on a standard 20 l vented cabinet, chosen to give people
an easy start to build their own loudspeaker.
Named after the Norse
goddess of Youth, we believe this kit reflects our goal well – and the
goal is to create more interest around speaker kits and High End Sound by
making DIY available, easy and cost effective.
